September 2004 - Junior Update
|
|
“Got Thank Yous?”
Where does the time go? Those who attended the 2004 National Junior Show a
few short months
ago may be asking the same question. It seems like yesterday we were all
in Springfield, Ill.,
walking, rinsing and fitting those wonderful creations we call Maine-Anjou
cattle. I look back
like it was yesterday remembering funny stories, steep competition and the
memories and
friendships that will last a lifetime!
I would like to thank everyone who made the 2004 National Junior Show a
special event. A
special thank you to Mrs. Jill Nessler and her committees for making
everyone feel welcome.
Also, a huge thanks to Daniel and the office staff, they do a lot of
behind the scenes work and
need to be commended for making our junior association run smoothly! An
event of this size
takes organization and a lot of hard work. I want to encourage you, if you
have not done so
already, to please write thank you notes to those who sponsored an award,
a class you were in or a contest you participated in. Please make sure the
people who made the show possible know you appreciate their support!
Everyone should have written at least one thank you to someone!
As we move into the fall and the national show scene, I want to encourage
you as juniors to
utilize your junior board members. We are here to represent you, so do not
hesitate to ask us for
help or call us with your suggestions. I want to thank my peers for having
faith in me to lead
them into the 2004-2005 year. It is a great honor to represent such a
dynamic breed and a great
group of people that are a part of our breed. So until the next time we
meet, enjoy every moment
left of summer and be sure to thank your parents, grandparents and friends
for making the trips,
putting on the miles and getting you where you need to go!
Sincerely yours,
Marci McDonnell
