2005 Dues
We know it’s early for a 2005 dues reminder, but please keep in mind we
will again be
inserting a payment envelope in the November/December issue of the Voice.
Please
watch for it and keep up-to-date with your American Maine-Anjou
Association (AMAA)
annual dues!
Registration Applications
Please look over your supply of registration applications. If you still
have old ones on
which you could only submit four head, please dispose of them as we no
longer use those
forms. The most current applications will accommodate eight head and
includes our
correct (Platte City) address. Some of you may still have forms with our
former Kansas
City address. Those forms can still be used, but update the address to
P.O. Box 1100,
Platte City, MO 64079-1100.
Dues Requirement
Animals cannot be registered or transferred if either the owner or seller
is not an active
member of the Association. Therefore, if a buyer mails in a transfer from
a non-member
or inactive member, the buyer will be charged for the seller’s membership
fee or annual
dues. The exception to this rule is if all animals owned by that
individual (non- or
inactive member) are being transferred at the same time, so the individual
currently
would not own any cattle.

This issue focuses on the performance of the Maine-Anjou breed, including
the benefits

that aspect. Call (816) 858-9954 to reserve your advertising space.

Marbling/Tenderness/Homozygous Black Testing
We are implementing handling and price changes in the genetic
testing that is done
through Bovigen Solutions LLC. We can still provide the kits through
the AMAA office,
but once you obtain the kit, the samples for testing will now be
sent directly to Bovigen
in Lafayette, Colo. We would, however, ask that our breeders
authorize Bovigen to
release the results of their particular testing to our office. The
following are updated
prices:
Combined GeneStar test 1 – 25 samples = $95 each
(Both Marbling and Tenderness) 26 – 49 samples = $85 each
